Knowing the right types of nutrients needed helps when choosing the right food for your trip. Above you can see that I have several different food groups covered. Eating natural food such as fresh vegetables, meats and cheeses, and a variety of nuts doesn't mean you have to sacrifice on weight. Making smaller portions like this helps to space the food out in your gear.
