The 2023 Top 5 Tents for Bikepacking

By Brooke Rabinovitch   |   6/18/2023

As an avid bikepacker, I have spent many a wonderful nights in a tent. On occasion though, the tent I chose was not the best for one reason or another. This drove me to do extensive research on what exactly is the best tent. A couple of questions I asked myself in this research include: Do you want a lightweight one? What's the best one for packing on the handlebars? How important it is to have a durable tent that can withstand any type of weather conditions? These are just a few questions that helped me create a list of the top 5 tents for bikepacking in 2023...

Here I am with 3 great choices of tents. On the right, is my tent, a Big Agnes Copper Spur. My friends tent is on the left and it comes from Klymit. Both tents happen to be priced on the higher end, but offer great amenities.

One of the lightest tents is the Big Agnes Fly Creek. This tent weighs just over a pound and packs up quite nicely on the bike.

A Klymit Maxfield tent that sleeps four people

If you need a bigger tent to sleep your entire group, I recommend the Klymit Maxfield 4-person tent. It weighs just over 5 pounds, packs up quite nicely, and is a breeze to set up.

Big Agnes Fly Creek tent

The number 1 tent on this list is the Big Agnes Fly Creek Bikepacking Edition tent. With its shorter foldable poles, this tent can easily fit between any handlebars or even fit in a frame bag with ease.
