Our Experts

The founder, Nate Cole, has been a two-wheeled advocate for as long as he can remember. His first bikepacking trip happened 8 years ago as a dare from a buddy. The bet was that Nate wouldn't be able to last 3 days packing all his gear around on a bike in the mountains. Let's just say that was the best $100 he ever earned! Since that experience, if he's not planning his next trip, he's on a bike tooling around preaching that all problems can be solved while riding a bike.
Our resident food expert, Cheryl Sanders, is a bikepacking enthusiast and loves exploring the outdoors on two wheels. Her fondest memory is a 6-day trip she took with her family and explored Denali National Park in Alaska on bike. When she's not climbing hills on her bike, she can be found researching in the test kitchen and coming up with another delicious recipe to keep us fueled on our next trip. She truly is a wizard in the kitchen.

As a passionate bikepacker, Adam Fender understands the importance of having high-quality gear that you can rely on. His 20+ years of experience in testing and putting gear through its paces has earned him the nickname, "Gear Guru." His one goal in promoting bikepacking is for you to have the best, most affordable gear to ensure that the only thing you're worried about is planning the route. If you run into him on the trail, ask him to explain why having one multi-tool is necessary, but why having multiple ones just makes more sense!
